Career Paths

The panel discussion Career Paths in Science will take place on Tuesday, September 29, from 5:50 to 6:50 p.m.

The panel is open to all conference participants and will bring together four distinguished scientists:

•   Cristiane Morais Smith, Utrecht University
•   Annica Black-Schaffer, Uppsala University
•   Vidya Madhavan, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
•   Annika Kurzmann, University of Cologne

The panelists will share their experiences and perspectives on careers in science, including the opportunities and challenges encountered along different academic career paths. Topics will include career decisions, international mobility, balancing research with other responsibilities, establishing an independent research profile, and navigating the transition between different stages of an academic career.

The discussion is intended to encourage an open exchange between the panelists and the audience. Participants are warmly invited to bring their questions and contribute to the conversation.
